Tybalt

The most famous love story in the world surely is Shakespeare's Rome & Juliet. This story has a couple of representations, one of these being the 1996 movie in which Leonardo DiCaprio represents Romeo and Claire Danes represents Juliet. This movie presented the story in a complete new way, combining modern environments and some comedy with a classic drama story. Some of the characters in the movie were really great, since they were just as imagined by most people but the one that really made the movie worth it  was the one represented by John Leguizamo: Tybalt.

Tybalt is the  actual definition of a bad guy. From his latin-killer looks, to his rockstar attitude, this guy's only mission in life is to kill the Montegues. From the beginning of the movie, till his death, Tybalt's only wish is to fight and kill anyone who belongs to the enemy family. The reason for this: because he wants to. He just can't help it: he hates Romeo! In fact, the whole story just changes when he finally goes looking for him and ends up dead in a fountain. He was willing to kill him even when he was not defending himself at all.

In the movie, Tybalt adds a bit of humor to the story. His clothes are both interesting and funny. Even though he is meant to be seen as the serious  bad guy who dresses properly and everything, he looks funny! His virgin decorations all over his shirts make such contrast with the rest of his clothes that it is like a formal joke, one that is not meant to mock at something but just to entertain the audience. Also, he looks kind of like a latin bullfighter. The way he wears his pants, makes him look like he is wearing a traditional bullfighter costume and this also applies to his gang, so they kind of match up. His movements are hilarious! When he is in the middle of the gunfight against Romeo's gang, his tango-like movements make him look so funny but without loosing the bad-guy style!

Not only does he look bad, he's got his very own style! The way he talks just makes you believe he is a dangerous man. His voice tone is always showing how mad he is and how much he hates everyone. Even though his accent is kind of sharp, you understand what he is saying and how he feels when he talks: simply angry! He is kind of like a rockstar! Although he is supposed to be a teenager, he smokes which gives him that super-bad look. Also, his car is just something else! It isn't something a regular teenager would drive around in.

Tybalt is your classic bad guy, but with a twist. The way he talks, dresses and acts. He's so bad he is the reason why the story turns the completely around. He is kind of funny, but without loosing the respect to this own character. He is one of the coolest villains ever seen in movies, his mere presence just adds danger to the scene but something else... he's got his own style!
